The Chevy 2014 Corvette Stingray was finally unleashed by General Motors Co
on 13th January, in the North-American International auto-show, in Detroit.
This is actually the 1st new version of this iconic sports car in 9 years and
it only shares two parts with the 2013 Chevy model. The 2014 Corvette has a
unique styling which it picked from the 1963 stingray and all the other newer
Corvette models.
Other than performing better than the 2013 Chevy, this 2-seater sports car
will definitely give you better gas mileage than all the other models.
The Specifications
With this 7th generation Chevy, Chevrolet retained their 2-door hatchback
shape, but with an additional all-new aluminum-chassis and an intensely designed
bodywork which is composed of composites & carbon-fiber reinforced
plastic.
The vents in the fender & the hood of this car were designed to allow air to effortlessly pass through its body to lower the aerodynamic lift. And to make it even beautiful, Chevrolet added a combination of the rear quarter windows and some polygonal taillights.
Under the hood of-this-car, Chevrolet added their latest 6.2L small block V8 engine featuring the variable valve, a unique fuel-management-system and direct injection, thus making it the most powerful engine ever installed in a Corvette.
And with 450lb-ft of torque and 450 horse power, this corvette can rip-through 0-60mph in-less than 4-seconds, which is about a few tenth-of-a-second faster than the 2013 Chevy. This is actually the most fuel-efficient Chevy to date and it has surpassed the EPA-estimated 26mpg of the present model.
To improve on the current Chevy’s 26mpg highway fuel consumption, the Chevy 2014 comes with a 7-speed manual transmission and a cylinder deactivation technology which will allow its engine to operate like a V4 under very light loads. The gear box of this car comes fitted with a unique rev-matching feature which blips the throttle automatically each time the gear changes for smoother-shifts.
The interior of this car is trimmed with various upgraded materials including carbon fiber, aluminum and Napa leather. It is also fitted with a configurable 8inches display in the center console and the instrument cluster. With this model, Chevrolet offered two types of seats one for the track and the other comfort. These seats are constructed and bolstered on some light-weight magnesium frames.

And to make this Chevy an all-purpose sports car, Chevrolet added a unique
selector which has five settings for track, sport, tour, wet weather and eco
which modify the steering, stability control and throttle response among other
systems to help match the driver’s needs perfectly.
The Chevy 2014 corvette retained corvette’s unique transverse composite-spring suspension design plus the superior Z51 performance-package which is available with-or-without General Motor’s prominent magnetic ride control-active-damper system. This track-focused performance package comes with:
1. Bigger-brakes which have an improved cooling,
2. Transmission & differential coolers
3. Modified aerodynamics,
4. A dry-sump oiling-system which is engineered to keep-up with all the 1-G cornering loads.
5. An electronic-limited slip-differential.
General Motors have not revealed the exact price of this new Chevy 2014 Corvette, but they said that it will actually be in the same range as the current Corvette which begins at about $50,000 and then climbs into a six figured value. The good news is that the Chevy 2014 Corvette will be in the showrooms during the fall.
